Although we have lost many artists, curators, critics, dealers, and collectors, I will leave their obituaries to The New York Times and the various publilcations that cover our art world. Here, I remember those people whose lives touched me deeply. There are more than the two I've llnked to here, of course, but these are the two I have written about. This is not a list I want to see grow.
Julie Karabenick, 1947-2020
A painter of exquisitely realized geometric abstractions and the curator of Geoform, an international resource of abstract geometric art, Julie touched many lives both personal and professional. She was smart, scholarly, generous, and kind. I was fortunate to have her as a friend for 15 years.
